Join us to learn how to “Awaken the Soul” from the innermost feelings of fear, doubt, loneliness, heartache, contriteness of spirit and soul by combining scripture study, storytelling, songs and musical meditations with a focus upon the tender mercies of Christ.  This podcast was inspired by Karyn's search to learn more about the pure love of Christ, through "The Book of Mormon".  

As we combine “Song & Scent” about the Atonement of Jesus Christ, we discover buried treasures in the history of those ancient mothers and wives who, behind the scenes displayed courage; loved and prayed for their people; their husbands, sons and daughters and future generations that would inherit the Americas. 

Together, we can glean from these scriptures, the love and tenderness God displays for all of His children and begin to apply the power of prayer, the ministration of angels, the joy of creating miracles and the miracle of forgiveness through returning our hearts to the Creator and Maker of our Souls. 

It matters not one’s religious preference. If you have a “willing heart and mind”, it is Karyn's hope that you too can glean the sweet messages from “another testament of Christ”.

There is no college degree for mending broken hearts.  At age 28, Karyn prayed that God would teach her how to work with the broken-hearted.   

After going through many life experiences , including several divorces, Karyn has written her story, “In Search of Happily-Ever -After: Rewriting My Fractured Fairytale”.

During the last 30 years of her journey, Karyn has been blessed with the gift of song which has helped her to turn to the Savior to strengthen her connection with Him during times of heartache and adversity.

Now, for the first time on radio or podcast, Karyn shares her journey through storytelling in song. These songs do not share the vivid details of her journey but lend strength, comfort and above all, hope to others who find themselves in search of their “Happily Ever After” too.

In Karyn's work as a Licensed Massage Therapist, she combines music, meditations, aromatherapy and Dr. Bach's work with "Bach Flowers" in order to help her clients return to joy.  Karyn has learned that there is "Power in the Spoken Word" as well as in music, coupled with the joyful nature of the flowers, aromatherapy and more.

 

In the first half of this podcast, Karyn shares her writings, "Consider the Lilies" along with affirmations for the "Flower Essences" which serve to remind us of our divine and pure potential.  Going one step further, Karyn also shares, in the second half of this podcast, the intentions she has written and narrated, called "Cherishing Heart Blessings & Blends".

In this episode, Dr. Skidmore shares how we can regulate and manage the ways our brains are triggered.  He shares how children learn about pleasure and pain.  He also shares how the amygdala in the brain stores pain and trauma and how we can release trauma with the aid of the healing arts of music, aromatherapy and massage in collaboration with scientific clinical techniques.  

Karyn also shares a portion of her interview with the late Dr. W. Dean Belnap, Psychiatrist, who partnered in writing the book "A Brain Gone Wrong".  Dr. Belnap was one of Karyn's greatest inspirations in her creation process of "The Healer's Touch Method" which combines music, massage and aromatherapy for rewriting memories stored in the mind-brain.  

These two great men are Karyn's hero's in the their work in teaching her about the workings of "Matters of the Mind".
