"Loving our Enemies" is not a matter of mind over matter, but a gift of the Spirit that comes through open, honest, heartfelt pleading with the Savior, through the power of prayer.  The miracle of forgiveness is a gift that often comes through  sincere supplication.  

 

In Ep #90 Karyn shares narrations and songs she has written to assure the listener of the miracle of forgiveness and to keep his saving grace in the forefront of our hearts and minds.  

 

When you can "feel the pain no more", you may still remember the experience that brought you to the depths of heartache  but also put you in touch with your innermost need for the Savior's loving grace.

 

"Throughout my life, I have had cause to mourn in a few of my relationships, when I felt despitefully used, misjudged, or taken advantage of.  We all have! People can be thoughtless, oftentimes over lookingi the need for extending mercy and compassion.  But, when you experience the gift of true forgiveness,  understanding, empathy and kindness replace and erase the need to carry a grudge or hold onto past, cyclical pain.  

 

Through the Savior's extension of empathy, tenderness and mercy, all regret, resentment and remorse can be replaced with the spirit of restitution, reconciliation and redemption. This may be instant or it may take time unraveling your hurt and heartache before Him.  May you find love, joy and peace in these musical messages by Karyn Lynn Grant.

Episode #88  Embraced By His Atonement with Stories & Songs by Karyn Lynn Grant

In this episode, Karyn share's four vignettes as examples in guided visualization and song which depict the miracles that can happen in our lives as we rely upon the Atoning Power of the Savior, Jesus Christ.

 

In the first vignette, a woman who lives in the Savior's time comes to hear the beatitudes on the Sermon on the Mount.  As you listen to this nameless woman's story, visualize yourself being recieved by Him with mercy, love and healing.  Then, listen to her song.  If this applies to you today or at any other time in your life, allow yourself to experience the pure intention of this message.  The message is that the Atonement heals those who have been the victim of unwarranted abuse, mistreatment and/or unrighteous dominion.

 

In the second vignette, Karyn shares the narrative of a woman who shares the symbolism of the Savior's experience in the narration and song, "In The Wilderness".  After the Savior fasted for forty days, He was allowed to suffer great temptations; in heart, mind, body and spirit.  This song reflects the Savior's role in helping us to overcome the temptations that every human soul may  experience and can overcome in the power of His Strength.  His role in helping us to overcome temptations of all kinds is another role of His Atoning Power.

 

In the third vignette, Karyn shares a story of a nameless mother who witnesses the Savior healing gifts upon the physical, emotional, mental and spiritual well-being of her child.  This vignette depicts the power of a praying mother for those she loves; that they might experience healing and wholeness on all four levels.  "One Precious Miracle" is yet another example of the Savior's mercy, love and kindness. all experienced as we continue in mighty prayer for His healing gifts to be experienced by those we love and have stewardship over.

 

In the fourth vignette, Karyn tells the anonymous story of a friend who Karyn felt inspired to write the song, "He is My Savior Too" for.  As her friend shared her miraculous story of having a life changing experience, by and through the cleansing power of the Atonement of Jesus Christ, Karyn was deeply touched.  When her friend shared this experience with her she said, "I suppose I learned the hard way that He is my Savior too."  Karyn has shared this powerful testimony of "Coming Unto Christ" and gaining a complete sense of knowing for oneself that the Savior's love extends not only to the rest of the world, but to each and every one of us.  

 

As the Savior works His many miracles in mighty ways, we discover for ourselves that He came to heal us from our infimaties, from our victimhood, to lead us out of tempation, to give us strength to overcome our own challenges and trials, as well as to bless those who we pray for, that they may be albe to accept and recieve the Gift of His Atonement on a personal level.   In the process, we find that with His love, nothing is impossible.  Miracles can and do occur.  Healing is His Ultimate Gift for the wounded, the weary and the heartbroken.

Episode #87 Love Letters From Heaven: Time for Goodbyes with Karyn Lynn Grant

For decades, Karyn has been writing and receiving "Love Letters From Heaven".  In this special podcast episode, Karyn addresses the heartache of having to say "Goodbye" to a former or lost love.  Realizing that not all those who come into our lives are meant to remain on our path for the duration of our lives offers a challenge when the time comes to say, "Goodbye".

 

In this "Love Letter from Heaven" Karyn pens the messages that have been given to her, through songs and epistles that have helped her to learn to say "Goodbye" gracefully.  

 

"Learning to surrender someone's place in your heart becomes an art of combining mercy with grace and forgiveness. Goodbyes do not have to be hateful or hurtful.  I have learned through the years ,after experiencing the loss of many loves, that a "Goodbye", when offered with an "I bless you on your way" can help remove the sting of what feels like a painful death."

 

 "Blessing someone on their way when they make a new choice is a matter of extending respect and honor for their right to choose a new path that may not include you."

 

In this episode, Karyn shares three "Love Letters from Heaven" and three songs that have helped her during those times in her life when saying "Goodbye" was the only option in a relationship that was dying on the vine.  

 

"The Broken Doll" Song was written by Wanda Lindstrom for Karyn during a painful annulment.  "Where Does Love Go?" and "Were You a Lonely Man?" were both written by Karyn.  Dean Kaelin, Top of the World Studios, produced all three songs in his studio in Salt Lake City along with hundreds of Karyn's other songs.

 

"When Wanda gifted me with the song, "The Broken Doll" ("Mend Me With A Broken Heart") it was the only time anyone has ever written a song for me. Wanda's song was the perfect gift for me in that moment of my life.  She told me I could sing it anywhere and everywhere for those who were suffering from a broken heart.  I sang it at Women's Shelters, the Prison, the Food and Shelter Coalition, The Family Treatment Center and at many other events.  This song became a theme song for me as I learned that turning to the Savior is the only way to truly "Mend a Broken Heart".

 

"I am so very grateful for the gift of writing and receiving "Love Letters from Heaven" through essays, poetry and songs.  It has been my silver cord to heaven during the balance of my mortal training here upon this earth.  Through the gift of writing the inspired words that have come to rest upon my mind, I have found that this is the way the Comforter works with me in my life.  

 

It is the intention of my heart to share some of that comfort with others who have cause to mourn in times of grief and sorrow.  I know firsthand that one of the most painful experiences we can have in life comes in the form of a "Goodbye" and often, it doesn't feel at the time that there is anything "good" about it!"

As a young mother, Karyn found herself in a marriage where her spirit was left empty, aching and longing.  The spiritual and emotional chasm in her marriage continued to grow, creating a deeper longing and homesickness for a deeper and more personal relationship with Christ.  

 

"I remember getting up in the wee hours of every morning to find some time for prayerful meditation.  These sweet morning devotions evolved from writing in my journal, to writing poetry (a portion was shared in Episode #86) and eventually into writing songs for Jesus."

 

"I felt like I was starving for spiritual sustenance, hungry for that which no mortal man can offer.  It was like my feeling of homesickness for heaven on earth was foraging an insatiable hole in my heart that could not seem to be repaired...at least not until I discovered my morning devotions with Him could fill that void."

 

"I turned to the Savior every morning.  I poured my heart out to Him when no one else was listening.  I confided only in Him about these strange longings that could not be met by any mortal.  I began opening my New Testament and mysteriously it seemed to fall open on verses about the women who followed Him in ancient times."

 

"I couldn't believe that He was my Savior too, not at first.  But, I felt something beautiful in each story.  I saw the humility in each woman portrayed in those verses and it was as if, short vignettes began opening in my mind as I read.  It was as if I could envision myself 'in-between-the-lines' of those precious passages" coming unto Jesus along side of those women."  

 

"Here are but three of those envisionings; three Guided Imageries that the Spirit led me on which each became a separate song with a separate visualization.  No matter how lonely I felt in my first marriage, ( as I was unable to share these sacred songs and scenes with my spouse), my heart began to be buoyed up regardless of whether or not he received my spirit. Now, I began to feel and to believe that He was “My Savior Too."

 

"That was 32 years ago.  My third baby, Lara, was a newborn and  my son Steven was soon to be born.  During these years of pregnancy and childbirth, I grew to love these wee hours of the morning.   I forward to when my babies would awaken in the darkness and call out to me for an early morning feeding."  

 

"As I fed them, my own spirit began to feel nurtured and nourished too.  I began to feel that my heart homesick heart had found a silver cord to the heavens and gradually, these, and many more songs for the Savior was making me feel whole.  That empty, aching, longing that had pervaded in my heart daily was now being filled to overflowing with a newfound testimony of Christ.  This all came by daily, "Envisioning Him"."

 

Karyn's reason for sharing these sacred "envisionings" is in the hope and with the prayer that if someone out there is feeling that same sort of empty, aching, longing for a deeper connection with their Savior too, that these messages may bring comfort, encouragement and faith to proceed in co-creating a more personal relationship with Him.

As a young teen, Karyn found that praying in poetry was the language of her soul.  She found that she could best express her innermost thoughts and feelings in prose.

This podcast is filled to overflowing with excerpts of Karyn's inspirational poetry which has never before been shared with a large audience.  

As a young girl, in her early morning meditations, Karyn's journal entries were filled with poetry which later evolved into lyrics and her love of songwriting that have numbered into the hundreds.  She called her "daily writings" a bit of manna from heaven.

At the end of her life we were able to nurture her on the last night of her life with lullabies sung by a few of her daughters and granddaughters. My mother passed peacefully in her sleep the following morning on the 4th of July, 2024.
“Night-Time Nurturing” is the art of passing on a Mother’s Love as they drift off to sleep, which my own Mother shared with her children.
